When calls the Heart is a wonderful family show. Thank you for good clean family entertainment.

I love this show. Can’t wait to see season 8. Hope to see Rosemary and Lee expecting their first child. Also would love to see Henry find love and also Bill. It would be interesting to have Jack’s brother added to the town. And maybe even an Abigail sister to take her place. I look forward to watching every week. I wished y’all had a longer season but I enjoy watching all the previous seasons.

I have loved this show from the very
Beginning. So happy when it comes in and so sad when the time comes and we no longer get to watch it. Thank goodness I have Netflix.

I enjoy the love triangle between Elizabeth, Lucas and Nathan and the Season 6 finale “cliffhanger.” I know Elizabeth’s final choice between the two suitors is still very much undecided by the powers-to-be. But my personal preference is Lucas for many reasons, but the definitive factor is that he is so not the “obvious choice.” Elizabeth now has the welfare of Baby Jack as her top priority. Therefore, does she really want to take a page out of the past by becoming romantically involved with Nathan, another Canadian Mountie with all its high risks and worries? And lets face it, guys. An Elizabeth and Nathan union would be a dull and somewhat boring imitation (that would definitely pale in comparison) to Elizabeth and Jack’s “once-in-a-lifetime” sweet courtship and romance. Elizabeth and Lucas already display a strong attraction and physical chemistry towards one another so in Season 7, what fun it would be for The Hearties to watch an emotional attraction grow as well. To ultimately win Elizabeth’s heart, she will have to be absolutely certain the new man in her life will step into the role of a father figure to Baby Jack with no hesitancy or qualms whatsoever. Okay, it’s a no-brainer that Nathan has the role of being the guardian for his niece perfected so no lingering doubt in that department! But wouldn’t it add some spice, humour, and “pulling-at-your hearstrings” flavor to a budding romance if Lucas clumsily but amazingly learn how to change a diaper or willingly assisted in potty training or helping out at mealtime with a tame food fight included or even bravely volunteering for an hour or so of baby-sitting? Lucas’s background and personality is that of a handsome, career-oriented bachelor but underneath this persona is a lonely man yearning for love, commitment and a family. There is such a wealth of emotional maturity that could be deveoped for Lucas’s storyline, and l hope Michael Landon, Jr. and Alfonso Moreno are smart enough and savvy enough to tap into it for Season 7.

While l have my “writer’s cap” on, l have a lot more storylines and ideas such as:

Instead of Lucas and Nathan doing all the pursuing, what about Elizabeth having to be a little aggressive too? Why not borrow from numerous Hallmark movie plots and bring in a beautiful and fashionably ex-girlfriend or love interest from one of the men’s past? In Lucas’s situation, the female friend he risked his life (and Elizabeth’s) to help could make a surprise and unexpected visit to personally offer her thanks and gratitude to Lucas. And wouldn’t it be a little naughty and fun for Elizabeth to watch in the sidelines with a longing expression on her face as Lucas greets his female friend with a warm embrace and maybe even a kiss on the cheek? There is nothing like a little dose of jealousy to help further a particular man’s cause. Also, Fiona’s character is slowly beginning to evolve, and l can envision an interesting and strong romantic connection developing between Fiona and Nathan somewhere in the new future?

One fan tweeted that in 1916, a schoolteacher would never form a relationship with a saloon owner which is definitely a negative for Lucas’ courtship of Elizabeth. But then again, where there is not too much emotional growth for Nathan in pursuing a different line of work, there is an overabundance of different career choices for Lucas. With the crude oil business beginning to boom in Hope Valley, Lucas could easily get in on the action. He could outright sell the saloon or bring in a managing partner (Henry or Bill?) and he then assume the role of silent partner. Also, what has happened to Abigails’s restaurant since her departure? Lucas could open maybe an Italian restaurant or one with a more intimate and cozy appeal for romantic candle-light dinners for two? Or if food cuisine isn’t a good fit, Lucas has shown an avid interest in the arts by the donation of the building for the town library so maybe Lucas could invest in a small art gallery or furniture store that sells art or even a men’s clothing store or a small grocery or five and dime with a soda fountain and ice cream parlor. So many fun possibilties!

My humble advice and hearfelt wisdom to the script writers of When Calls the Heart:

Since it is amost an even divide between Lucas and Nathan with the viewers in who should ultimately win Elizabeth’s heart, l will leave you with one final thing to ponder. If Elizabeth Thatcher were a real-life individual, it is a 99.9% certainty, she would shy away from more potential heartache and emotional loss from a high-risk career choice of another’s choising such as police enforcement but instead would find herself to be in a place at this particular stage of her life as a young widow and adoring mother to step outside her comfort zone and explore a slighly different but very rewarding, romantic, and lasting new love with Lucas.

Ramelle, I could not have said this better myself.! I agree there are so many possibilities with Lucas, with whom there is undeniable chemistry. I loved all your scenarios. In fact, instead of calling it Saloon, in the front, maybe he could change it to say Restaurant & Saloon ( a good gesture, too). There are so many noteworthy events and community get togethers that have been held there that it’s hard to think of the place solely as a Saloon. I think it would be good to see some interaction with baby Jack, perhaps a picnic for the three of them. I also agree on the Nathan & Fiona pairing. There is chemistry there. And maybe adoption for Rosemarie and Lee. We have a lot to look forward to, when God willing, we can get over this pandemic!

I think this was very well written I do believe Elizabeth’s choice should be Lucas, that will make for much more exciting and ideas of events going forward. However that being said, All the writers in this series are so talented and I believe what ever their decisions are going forward we Hearties will be very much entertained and as speaking for myself I will all of these series over and over you can be sure of that. Love them all and commend such fantastic performances from these talented actor and actress. GOD BLESS
