Producers’ Statement

#Hearties, thank you for your love, support, and patience these last several days as we have all been preoccupied with the news about Lori Loughlin and her family, and the decisions our colleagues at the Hallmark Channel USA needed to make. As you can imagine, everyone involved with When Calls the Heart was surprised by these developments, so we hope you can forgive us for initially staying silent while we sorted through how to respond.

As for the show itself, we know millions of fans are on pins and needles wondering what will happen now. Let us reassure you, When Calls the Heart has always been bigger than the sum of its parts, and it HAS NOT BEEN CANCELED. With the full support of the network, we have gone on a creative hiatus to do some retooling on the remaining Season 6 episodes. That process has already begun. Hope Valley will return to your TV screens as soon as we can bring the episodes to you.

On behalf of our entire producing team, including Michael Landon Jr., Brad Krevoy and Alfonso Moreno, I want to thank you for continuing to show your love. Your private messages of support and your #Hearties4S6 worldwide trending on Thursday brought a lot of tears to the eyes of our cast and crew and to the good folks at Hallmark Channel. Your love for When Calls the Heart is the courage we count on as we work through this challenging transition and your Hearties community will always be the most important legacy of this TV series. We love you!

Please keep making beautiful episodes of when calls the heart. We all miss the show very much. Do not kill Abigail, hasn’t Cody been through enough?. Replacing her charecter would work. We all what happened, no other actor should have to suffer for her mistakes.

I’m an avid hallmark fan and subscribe to both channels for several years now. I thoroughly enjoy all your productions be they movies, mysteries or series.I am a “heartie” and so,so,so happy that the series will continue. I actually can’t wait after watching the new episodes and the introduction of new characters.

Why is a show that is all about forgiveness and redemption, not giving Lori Loughlin a chance to apologize? It seems to me that the viewers of this show would rather see her character continue. Why ruin a show over an actress’s unfortunate transgression. The show continually preaches the importance of forgiveness. Why can’t Hallmark forgive Lori Loughlin?

Idea for Abigal to have a sister that comes to take care of Cody and the cafe’ while she is gone, and she passes off screen and then we and Hope Valley could grieve the loss of her character.

I love the show too and hope they can keep it going for a long time to come.

PLEASE continue this AMAZING series! I am so sorry that you all are having to go through this and I am praying that God will lead you to the correct solutions to fix this. My hope is the the character of Abigail will remain and you can find the perfect replacement for this key role. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as well as Lori Laughlin and her family.

Please update us, as much as you can, weekly. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for such devoted fans.
