I was disappointed in the finale this season. I have the books of When Calls The Heart & the sequel When Comes The Spring. Jack dying doesn’t go along with the story line that Jeanette Oke wrote. Jack & Elizabeth are the Heart of the show. Can’t image the show being as good without Jack. I’m sure Daniel Lissing wants to do other things but WOW will he be missed. I’m not sure if I will watch or not. Its such a let down. I invested way to much of myself into this show not sure if I want to do that again.

I love When Calls the Heart and all the couples on the couples that should be together Bill and Abigail. The main reason why I love this series is because it remains me so much of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. I love the main couple on this show Jack and Elizabeth their relationship so breath taking and so real. I’m going to miss seeing Jack comes back to surprise Elizabeth. Or comes homes to Elizabeth, and I’ve cried when Elizabeth read Jack’s finally letter to her. Jack will be miss, but he will live on in everyone’s enclosing hearts and in the son or daughter he never had gotten to see forever. I know that Elizabeth will find love again maybe in the next season hopefully. But the show wouldn’t be the same without Jack and Elizabeth relationship.

Hi I want Jack back next season
I’m disappointed I’ve watched all five season and enjoyed it very much until the finale Sunday I won’t be back to watch without Jack and Elizabeth.

It is so hard to say goodbye to Jack but, unfortunately, Daniel Lissing announced on this afternoon’s hallmark Fhannel USA Facebook Live that he’s decided to leave the show. So, the writers determined this was the best way to handle his departure. How you can find it in your Hearties heart to give season 6 a try at Christmas and in 2019. There are still so many stories to tell in Hope Valley!

  • Well said for all. Very disappointed in how Hallmark treated the fans with such secrecy this week. Not interested in an explanation unless they have miraculously found a way to return Jack with mistaken identity or something positive. NO excuse for playing “Stay Strong” when YOU diliberately chose todrag out such dramatic and heart wrenching news for what WAS A FEEL GOOD network.

I hope you had a chance to watch the Hallmark Channel USA Facebook Live with Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, and Brian Bird from this afternoon. They answered many of our questions including why they decided to handle Dan’s departure this way and that they were not allowed to discuss it. They said they were all so relieved to be able to finally discuss it. And Lori assured us that the sadness in last night’s episode will not be carried into future episode.

It is sad to see a death of a loved one in real life. My friend just lost her husband, Life is not perfect
and the writers brought reality to true life. Hallmark movies have happy endings, which is beautiful but not always true to real life. I will miss the relationship between Jack and Elizabeth and actually mourn the loss of Jack. Its almost like real and that is what I truly respect of this story Hope Valley. If we truly believe in hope I am sure the story of Elizabeth being pregnant will bring joy and love knowing she will always have a part of Jack . A bond they will have forever.

I’m heart broken and I have read the book When Calls the Heart, why did you kill him off? its yes a disappointment and very heart broken, they were suppose the stay together, or have you forgotten the book. I feel for Janette Oke, she is a amazing writer and I have read When Calls the Heart series and eight of her other books. It just so sad.

Daniel Lissing announced during this afternoon’s Facebook Live that he decided to leave the show. Therefore, the writers determined that Jack’s death was the best way to handle Dan’s departure, Yes, Jack dying and Dan leaving the show are very sad. But we have the hoe for the future in Jack & Elizabeth’s baby. #HopeLivesHere

Have loved this great series with the wonderful actors! I have seen how the writers of the show do what is necessary to show interesting and intriguing events that happen in the series, however, with the Hallmark programs I do expect the difficult situations to have an outcome that always gets worked out. With a comment that was stated earlier we deal with real life issues in our lives…..heartbreak, death and breakups and honestly with this main actor being killed off it does kind of roll me back to reality TV. I honestly don’t want to stop watching but killing off a main actor which anchored this show kind of puts me off and leads me to not want to watch a show that evidently shows heartache and disappointment which is dealt with in real life.

Daniel Lissing, the actor who plays Jack, announced on the Facebook Live this afternoon that he decided to leave the show. The writers determined that Jack dying a hero was the best way to deal with his departure. Yes, it was a very emotional and tough episode for us Hearties, but, in the end, it gave us hope for the future with Jack & Elizabeth’s baby. There’s always hope in Hope Valley!

    • My sentiments exactly Renita. Best wishes to all of them but the hoopla of secrecy was soooooo uncalled for, especially for holding out such a tragic last few moments, then wait a week to find the finale was worst case scenario is, in fact, just like reality TV. Not what Hallmark has given us until now. All of us have loss, tragedy and witness it constantly in real life issues. We know they are actors (who are also real people) so WHY throw shame back on us for crying foul when HOPE reigned on this ‘happy place’ network….no more. Lost faith in the escape from reality network.

I can’t believe Jack is gone. Couldn’t they of just had him gone missing? That way maybe if he changed his mind he could of come back. I will continue to watch but it won’t be the same. I wish Daniel well, he will be missed.

Have you had a chance to watch the Facebook Live with Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, and Brian Bird in the Hallmark Channel USA Facebook Page? They discuss that the writers and producers talked about Dan’s decision to leave the show and they determined the only way Jack would leave Elizabeth was due to his death. It was a very tough decision for them.
