A Hearties Thank You to Hallmark Channel

Dear Hallmark,

We just want to take a moment and simply say, ‘Thank You.’ Thank you for giving us ‘When Calls the Heart.’ You took the step of faith that this series would succeed and by all the fans measures it has.

In the deep coal mines of the entertainment industry, the canaries have all but quit singing. You have brought us ‘When Calls the Heart’ which has been a rush of fresh air to breath.

You call yourself ‘The Heart of TV’ and with this series you are becoming the soul of entertainment. Where moral failure and violence rules in the majority of the industry, you have dared to provide a show that calls out to the depths of the human soul. It calls out to what is right within all of us.

The basics of human truth and life are woven throughout and create a masterpiece that we know in our bones is good. As with any great art, ‘When Calls the Heart’ moves it viewers in ways they cannot explain.

Michael Landon Jr and Brian Bird dared to take a small flame burning within themselves and produce this series. You have dared to let that small flame be seen and it has spread like a wildfire. Wildfires are good. They burn the debris of nature which brings back life. This wildfire has brought back life to millions of people.

This show has:
-given a voice to those who didn’t know how to be heard.
-brought thousands of people to social media that had little knowledge of it yet alone how to work it.
-created bonds of friendship to people from all over the world.
-risen above social, economical, and political beliefs.
-created lines of communications in families and marriages.
-created a pause in the chaos of life where families come together, sit and enjoy an hour of TV with each other.
-called to the depths of the soul where basic truths about life are held.

This was never ‘just a TV show.’ This was more from its mere infancy. The characters call back to the love of fellow human beings. We are shown what a teacher who really cares about her students can do. We are shown how you can pick up your life from the ashes and rise above with your faith, talents and love of friends. Men of all ages are called back to the basics of the chivalry that are within them. Boys and young men are given a role model who stands for what is right and who they can look up to. We are shown the power of community and love.

A new community has formed world wide because you chose to believe. It is because of that the #Hearties exist. Men and women, young and old have all come together to celebrate truth, community, friendship and love.

So from all the Hearties world wide, we simply say ‘Thank You and trust your heart as you continue daring to believe.’
