I can’t help feel that Daniel Lissing has “fallen on his sword” for this show. His actions and interviews lead me to believe that he is willing to take the heat and that he truly wants the show to be able to continue without his character. Whether he left voluntarily or not is irrelevant – it just allows fans to direct their anger and hurt.

I am a huge fan of WCTH, and I have to say that I was completely taken aback when Jack was killed off… like all the others here, I felt like I could open my heart to this show after the first couple of seasons… I dropped Downtin Abbey like a hot potato when they started to kill people off, and though I was tempted to do the same when Jack died I somehow think that that mistake won’t be made again. I see that you guys did what you could with the cards you were given… but as a huge fan of the show who has fallen in love with every character, please hear me and the others when we say to leave the tragedy to the ugly shows that we left behind to watch yours. Get creative, and don’t break our hearts like that again. Many of us have had way too many real life tragedies that we are still doing our best to get over. WCTH has been kind of an escape from reality for us… we don’t need stomach wrenching tragedy in our safe haven entertainment. I trust you guys will do better next time.

I am very upset over Jack leaving. When he signed on he should have agreed to stay for the long run of the show. We waited for the wedding, which was beautiful then have you go away and die. Shame on you Daniel Lissing. Not sure i will watch anything again with youuu in it, you might leave that one too. I love the show but i am very upset. I have been upset by many shows this year.

I’m so sorry you are upset by Daniel Lissing leaving the show. I hope you had the chance to see the Facebook Live or the Home & Family interview that he did with Erin Krakow and Lori Loughlin last week. In those, he told us fans that he decided to leave for very personal reasons. His contract was for five seasons and he just decided not to renew it for more seasons. It’s been said many times that Hallmark Channel has been supportive of his decision to leave and Brian Bird, WCTH creator & executive producers, encouraged us Hearties to checkout Dan’s future endeavors. Yes, as heartbreaking as it was to watch Jack’s death, the good news is that Dan is alive and well and working on new projects. I hope you can find some peace soon. 😊

  • I loved the Facebook video with Dan, Erin and Lori. I love WCTW and I love them. I wish Dan well. I look forward to season 6. I am looking forward to seeing Erin and Lori and cast. This show is one that I want to watch. It is a family show and faith based which I love. Thank you so much.

To Lori, Erin, and exec. Producer Brian, how stupid can u three be ? The writers have spent five season making Erin and Daniels characters the focal point of this series! Five seasons, like a fine wine maturing with age was their love story! You knew Daniel was leaving before season 5 and you still decided to kill him off in a training session due to a rock slide. You could have easily written into the series that jack had to stay in the Northern Territory and Elizabeth would speak about her wonderful trips she had visiting him, and even talk about it only being for a few years! You could re-cast him as others have suggested! Best solution!!!!! If the couple was not the huge focal point of FIVE seasons I would agree, kill him off fighting in the Northern Territory along side his “band of brothers”, have a gut wrenching funeral, blah blah blah! This is definitely the “JUMP THE SHARK ” moment for the show! My wife is a mid-wife and this was the “ONLY” show she watches on t.v. The only one! When the show was over, she said ” I can’t believe how stupid the writers were killing him off”. She said I waited five season for them to get married and now this! She stated she will never watch the show again, period! She is done! i asked her what she would have done if she was in the writers shoes? She quickly said, “re-cast him”, ” I waited FIVE season for them to get married”!!!? It’s that simple, you guys blew this! You lost her! She was starting to watch other movies your hearties were in on hallmark throughout the year and now she is done. every Sunday night I would make her popcorn and pour her a glass of wine and she would curl up and watch When Calls The Heart. I’m really sad for her, and for your actors. Season 6 will be your last. I wonder if your advertisers were happy with your decision not to re-cast him????????

For the moment I think that I won’t go on to see the series. I prefer to leave here. I am a little surprised about this end
I liked this serie very much, I was bound to all characters of the story. the re was a particular feeling in these five seasons between fans and characters.
I prefer to stop to see it here.
I wish all the best to Dan for his choise and to Erin and Lori good luck with the 6th season.
