No Virus More Potent than Hearties Fever

 #Hearties,
I hope you are all safe and sound with your families during this very unusual time on planet Earth. And if you have lost someone during this period, my deepest sympathies. I pray God will grant you great big shoulders to lean on in the days ahead as you deal with your loss.

But if there is one thing I’ve learned during these last few months, it’s that no virus burns hotter or spreads faster than Hearties Fever. And there’s no cure for what ails human heartbreak and the hunger for hope and friendship quite like you and your worldwide community. You are frankly the most loyal fans in all of TV fandom.

You rallied during Season 7 of When Calls the Heart like we have never seen before. During a season which, honestly, we on the cast and crew were holding our breath to see how the Hearties would react to all of the changes that circumstances compelled Hope Valley to undergo during Seasons 5 and 6: you never flagged or failed in your love for this TV series.

In fact, you showed up bigger and bolder than we could have ever expected. One of the best examples of this was our Season 7 finale episode which had the most viewers of any of our one-hour episodes in the history of the series. According to Programming Insider, nearly 2.7 million of you watched live on Sunday night, April 26, 2020. And during the next seven days, another 1.1 million of you watched on your DVRs. That means a total of 3.8 million people watched the “hug heard around the world” Season 7 finale. For perspective, that’s more a hundred-thousand more live viewers than watched the Season 5 finale — which you may remember was the funeral episode for Mountie Jack.

You also continued trending nationally on Twitter in every episode of Season 7. According to Comscore, your social media activity made When Calls the Heart the No. 5 “stickiest show” on all of cable television during the last two weeks of the season. All of which means that there has been no “flattening of the curve” of Hearties Fever.

Now, I don’t offer any of these statistics to brag about how clever we are as producers and storytellers. This is all about you, Hearties. I want you to take heart and take pride in knowing that your love for the show is the reason it is continuing after all of these years. You can thank yourselves for our renewal for Season 8. Given all the uncertainty in the economy right now, that is no small accomplishment.

Yes, it’s a good thing that When Calls the Heart is coming back for Season 8. And your continued love affair with Hope Valley could lead to who knows how many more seasons of the show. But what is more profound to me than the show continuing is YOU CONTINUING. Your presence is no longer a secret just to the cast and crew of the show or to the Hallmark Channel or Super Channel in Canada. The entire TV industry is taking notice of you… and frankly they hope to offer you more of the kind of programming you love so much. And if that happens, what a victory in the culture you will be responsible for. Your advocacy for hope, faith and love on TV may lead to more nutritious “soul food” for the culture. I can tell you that I have never been busier developing more content for you than I am right now, and I hope to be able to share news of all of that progress with you soon.

But even more important to me is that your legacy as a Hearties community will outlive and outlast the show. Even after we turn out the lights on Hope Valley sometime in the future (I hope many years from now), your community and friendships will live on, blessing the world as only Hearties can do. And you and your values will be needed then more than ever.Keep going. Keeping loving each other. Keep the fever burning bright.

I have a question, don’t know why this question has never been asked . The story goes Daniel Lessing leaving When calls the heart was why Jack died , but I cant help but notice that this was everywhere in script from the begining. It’s the core of Jack and Elizabeth’s story ” Jacks calling,, the fear of him dying ”
Then we had the landslide in season 2 or 3 ,it’s like a presessor of what’s to come ,same when the fixing of the houses for the settlers, Jack saves 2 from a falling beam ???? Maybe I am crazy but rewatching and focusing on script I can’t help but wonder was this all brilliance of the writers from the begining ???

Just LOVE this series. it is refreshing to watch something that is not offensive in any way & promotes all that is good in society. Am still waiting for Netflix to release season 7 (I’m in Australia).
    What. happened to Jack’s land?

Add my husband and I to the Hearties for When Calls the Heart. Love, love, love this show and will continue to watch as long as you continue to produce it.

One change we would like to see is that the season is extended. It seems we are just getting into it again and it’s over. If you could add more episodes to the season that would be great.

    Thank you!

We happened to find When Calls the Heart on Netflix and have found it so refreshing! We have lived in BC, so the scenery is breathtakingly familiar!

We are encouraged to hear that the movie industry is perking their ears about Hearties. America and Canada are thirsty for good news and Heart brings that so well!

Thank you, Brian! And all involved in producing Heart.
