The Truth About Sex On TV What “When Calls the Heart” taught me about the power of sleeping together.

by Kelly Mahaffy

Everyone has seen it. Netflix puts its popular new shows right on the opening screen, and smack dab in the middle is “When Calls the Heart.” The buttoned-up “Little House on the Prairie”-esque TV show has, undoubtedly, been scrolled past by thousands of teens in the past few months.

Well, after my roommate became obsessed with the show, I decided that I should give it a try. This was all done in secret of course, after all, she had been telling me to watch the show for months,  . . .

Jack should be brought back to When Calls the Heart. He needs to be reunited with Elizabeth & their Hope Valley friends and meet baby Jack.

I guess instead of Hope Valley it should be call Widow Valley. With Jack gone so much the last two seasons we were really deprived of the true love story of after the wedding and them sharing the joy of the first child. watch the show for the love story! So much hurt in the world, I like shows that are love and positive. I do not think I can watch the show with out Jack.. I lost a love at 17, he died in a car accident. I have a hard time yet seeing hurt on shows. Another child without a father.

My husband and I have watched “When Calls the Heart,” from the beginning, but taking Jack off the show was a very big disappointment . There was so much more to Jack and Elizabeth’s story that could have been written. It will never be the same without the continuance of their story. We were afraid this might happen since Jack has been gone so much, but we were so hopeful that Jack would be back full time. Last night was very, very sad. We are thankful for such a wonderful show to watch each Sunday night. But without Jack with Elizabeth it will never be the same. Therefore we will not continue watching “When Calls the Heart ” next season.

I Know it does seem sad that jack is now gone but hey that happened to men in real historical time all the time. It was also common for women to die frequently in child birth, people re-married and moved on, still remembering those who passed, it was just a thing of life. I think however much I adored Jack and Elizabeth the show would lose some of its tension, because the two main character got married and all things where really cheesy and happy, this way now with Jack gone they can explore different character and add new plots, which I think will be very interesting to watch!!! They did the same in Downton Abbey and the result of the show was very sincere and good as they explored new problems and situations.I think people should continue watching as it is quite realistic what happened to Jack. People simply sadly did pass on and life moved on, so I think people should just except what happened and move on!!

I’m going to miss not seeing Jack on this show, and the moments of Jack and Elizabeth together. And this episode was the saddest one ever.

At the start of this season I finally joined my wife in watching each week and love WCTH due to its happy and clean tone. Then you had to kill off Jack. Very disappointed that this show followed the rest of tv in killing off a beloved leading character.

    • Jack is not dead he will be in season 6. Elizabeth is going to have a baby and they have already showed pre views of her and Jack talking why he is 5 minutes late and she is so worried. He will be back it is like a soap opera.

Jack died in season 5. IN season 6 Elizabeth meets Nathan (Reginal) Grant, and Lucas Brouchard.

I’m heart broken to see Jack gone my hope was that it would be a very bad mistake. The cast are all amazing but the love story between Jack and Elizabeth is what brought me back each week. And now a baby that he always wanted. You have truly broke my heart and damaged the story line in some way. God bless Dan with your future. I’m so unhappy right now.

I know all of us Hearties have so many concerns & questions! We’ve been assured that the answers to our burning questions will be answered in the season finale this Sunday night and on Monday in the first-ever, post-season finale Facebook Live with Brian Bird, Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow, and Daniel Lissing on the Hallmark Channel USA Facebook page at 6PM Eastern/5PM Central/4PM Mountain/3PM Pacific.

I’m hoping it’s a mistake and that he’s back next season ! Because without Jack it would change the show , big time ! So fingers crossed that it was a dream or a of case of mistaken identity .

  • after all the seasons getting Jack and Elizabeth together if you kill him off at the end of this season I will never watch this show again this is ridiculous

I second that! Why would you wait all this time for them to marry and then kill him the very next episode! 🙁
