I could tell when Jack left for the Northern territories in S4 that his character was going as well, especially since he did not return until Christmas 2017 and then only a few episodes in S5. This is life especially, military life. Replacing him with someone else never works … I say, let’s move on and create an even better S6 with a stronger Elizabeth and more from all the other great characters in Hope Valley. The show does not have to end with Jack leaving, it can be a fresh new beginning!

Terrible episode and ending to the season. Should have recast his part. Depressing.

  • I am o thankful to Hallmark, When Calls The Heart, Brian Bird and the whole cast and crew for giving us real life for allowing us to feel the joys and sorrows of real life. The acting the story how they handled the children and everyone that was affected by the loss of the character Jack I say it that way because Daniel is alive and well and now its time to anticipate change to watch Hope Valley grow and thrive watch Elizabeth and Baby Jack and the family we have brought into our homes. I love you all. I have been a Hearties since early year One and I am devoted to our show

Ending was true to life and very well done. Thanks for connecting with us Hearties on so many levels. I am broken hearted but know Hope Valley, it’s cast, and us will be fine. We will power through this adventure together.
Thanks Hallmark, cast, writers and Everyone for touching our hearts always.

I am very disappointed at this season’s finales. If Daniel wanted to leave the show that would have been ok. They could have gotten someone else to play the part of Jack Thornton.

I missed the Facebook live event. Will someone please fill me in on what was said?

Dawn- You can still watch it on Hallmark Channel USA’s Facebook Page. It will stay up there.

Thank you. I’ve tried and haven’t been able get it to play. But will keep trying. Thanks for replying.

Bummed out! I already knew how this was going to play out. This finally ending was heartbreaking. I held out hope that Jack wasn’t in that grave…….he managed to uncover himself from the avalanche and try to return home.

Since I can’t get live discussion to work, I will miss everything, unless it is taped for later viewing.

Loved the series this year but a thumbs down for the ending.

The Facebook Live with Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, and Brian Bird is available on the Hallmark Channel USA’s Facebook Page. Just scroll down the page to find the post with the video. Last night’s episode was tough, no doubt about it. In the Facebook Live, they discussed that it was Dan’s decision to leave the show and this was the best way the producers and writers could determine to handle his departure. And they shared that the uplifting stories of Hope Valley will be back in the Christmas movie later this year and season 6 coming in 2019. Hope you continue to watch!

      • I am completely disappointed that Jack is gone. Couldn’t he have gone missing so at least there is hope, and perhaps he could return in season 6? I cannot stand to think of the show without him. Love you Dan!❤❤❤
