BOOMs - New Date & Time
From Brian Bird, Executive Producer
Hearties! Two big announcements to share -- When Calls the Heart will be airing at 8 p.m. Saturdays this season instead of 9 p.m. We believe this will be a huge boost for family viewing across the country, along with increasing the ratings for When Calls the Heart -- which is in the best interests of the Hearties everywhere!
And now for an another announcement, which you might want to sit down for: The new Season Premiere air date has been pushed 3 weeks to April 25! There are many good reasons for this, but most importantly because the Hallmark Channel wants this show to succeed! We know this will be a disappointment to you, but I am actually very relieved. From the beginning, I have been worried about the season premiere falling on Easter weekend. I believe all Hearties would have figured out how to fit the broadcast into their busy Easter weekend lives. However, what about all the potential new Hearties who wouldn't be able to find the time? April 25 also now positions us to debut on a weekend without a lot of competition, both on TV or from the calendar. Additionally the plan had been to preempt us on April 11 because of some other programming conflicts on Hallmark. That would have meant premiering and then being off the air for two weeks. I think you'll agree that premiering April 25 is a far better solution, even though I understand it makes the wait more agonizing. So, even though this change requires a little more patience and calm, I believe you'll agree with me on two things:
First, this better positions our show against the competition and demonstrate how much Hallmark cares about you and keeping the show successful.
And second, absence makes the Hearties grow fonder!
